Satellite Data and Service Centers (CDS)

This center brings together the CERSAT and CATDS.

CERSAT’s role is to archive, process and validate data from satellite sensors (altimeters, scatterometers, radiometers, SARs - Synthetic Aperture Radars, etc.) with a focus on sea-surface parameters and air-sea interactions.

The CATDS is dedicated to exploiting SMOS satellite data (ocean surface salinity). It is based in Brest.

The role of this center is to exploit altimetric data derived from satellite observations measuring the height of the oceans.

It is based in Toulouse, led by CNES as part of the SALP multi-mission project and comprises two separate entities: AVISO and CTOH.
